Weekend Pairings: Diavolo & Lagunitas Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale.

(tonecapo) Feeling adventurous? Feel the need to try something new? Do you like hot food and hopped up IPAs? Our Diavolo Neapolitan style pizza offers the right amount heat for those who like it. (Think hot Summer day.) It features roasted banana peppers, fresh mozzarella, olive oil, ground sausage, San Marzano tomato sauce seasoned with crushed red pepper. The seasoned San Marzano Sauce offers a bit of sweetness & heat that goes well the ground sausage and creamy fresh mozzarella. Lagunitas Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ (LSS) is a heavily hopped wheat ale. LSS is very refreshing, and is sharply carbonated giving it pointed feel. At 7.5% ABV LSS is not a heavy, finishes smooth, and only one or two are needed.  If hot isn’t your thing, Lagunitas LSS also would pair well with our All Meat pizza, stuffed peppers, bacon wrapped jalepeno poppers, fried pickles or fried banana pepper rings appetizers, and pizza with Pepperoni & mild banana peppers.

A slice story. Every Wednesday in January & February @ Capo’s Geneva!

(tonecapo)

One of my first slices of pizza came from my Grandfather Frank Capo Sr.’s pizza shop at Geneva on the Lake. It’s an experience you can’t forget. First, the slice of pizza is ginormous. The slice of pizza is so large that it almost forces you to be seated in order to enjoy it. Second, they’re served very hot, straight out of the oven. There’s something about a hot slice of cheesy pizza that hypnotizes you. Then convinces you to burn your mouth on it, but the sounds of the Lake Erie waves crashing and sunshine soothes the pain and you find yourself in line to get another slice.

A slice of pizza is warm hug on a cold day in January.

All day every Wednesday in January slices will be available at Capo’s Pizza, Geneva!

I’m not saying all this because I am a Capo. I say it because I truly believe we make some of the best pizza in the area. When I was a kid, we would go on short trips to visit my father’s family, or just to get away. On these trips, my dad, Tony Sr. would always order pizza. Not to see what other places were doing, but because, we love pizza! We had some good pizzas on those trips but nothing compared to my Grandfather’s pizza.
